In Today’s Story, we are exploring which size of stocks (i.e. large, mid, or small cap) outperforms over time in Egypt. This can offer us a better benchmarking tool than just scaling the performance of the main benchmark EGX 30 which is largely influenced by the heavyweight stocks (e.g. COMI). We note that although EGX 30 is considered a proxy of large cap stocks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), it only factors in the top 30 stocks in terms of trading liquidity–not all large cap stocks.
